Voiding Cystourethrogram (VCUG)

Overview

A voiding cystourethrogram is a radiological study used to diagnose abnormalities of bladder and lower urinary tract. A contrast material will be inserted into the bladder via catheter and a specialized x-ray called fluoroscopy is used to identify the structure and function of lower urinary tract.

How to prepare for the test

There is no special preparation required for this test. You should advise the doctor of any medical complications or medicines your child is prescribed.
